OUR PILLARS

Our foundational pillars describe and define who we are and what we do.

WORD

As Disciples of Christ we study the Word, the truth, which guides and enables us to fulfill our mission of reaching the lost and impacting communities. This is lived out through New Life through 4 Sunday worship services, 4 weekly bible studies, Discipleship School, Growth Track, Adult Ministries (men, women, marriage, single, JG), Alive (children and teens) Ministries, Northern Seminary Partnership, School of Worship, MIT, and future training academy.

WORSHIP

Positions us and strengthens us to live out our mission. We create an atmosphere of reverence and adoration unto God which allows those in attendance to have clarity on God’s direction for their lives; how to execute God’s purpose for their lives by living a worship lifestyle. This is lived out through New Life through the Creative Arts Division, School of Worship, Sunday services, bible studies, One Conference, Sunrise Service, New Years Services, and Worship month.

PRAYER

We are teaching and being an example of the power of going directly to the source, to God, who gives us direct access to communicate with Him. This pillar is lived out within New Life through weekly prayer services (4am prayer, intercessory prayer) prayer calls, community prayer (Prayer on the 9, SWAT), and prayer events (12-hour prayer).

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Strategic programming designed to bring long-term impact to meet the unique needs of a particular community. This is currently lived out at New Life through the newly developed Chance Center (restorative justice programming with Avalon Park School), Arts in Motion School, the legal clinic, food pantry, Habitat for Humanity partnership, the Counseling Center, and the Future Legacy Center.

OUTREACH

Purposeful, high-impact community events that serve to evangelize and meet the unique needs of the community through love. How this is currently lived out at New Life is through the ‘L’ project, Day of Service, Sunrise Service, Adopt 79th, Sports Ministry hot dog and ice cream giveaways, back to school (B2S) events, bike blessings, HBCU tours, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas angel tree, Easter Eggsplosion.
